Marine Maker Day Returns June 8
Groton, CT – Ignite, a program of Thames River Innovation Place, is pleased to announce the return of its Marine Maker Day, an exploration of marine technology for students in grades 7 through 10. The full-day program will take place on Saturday, June 8th from 9 am - 4 pm at Project Oceanology in Groton. Marcum Associates, Accountants will answer tax and accounting questions
Groton, CT – Ignite, a program of Thames River Innovation Place, will hold its monthly Office Hours program with Marcum Associates. The accounting firm is returning before the end of the year to answer tax and accounting questions. Business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to schedule a one-on-one appointment between the hours of 10:00 am - 2:00 pm by emailing ignite@thamesriverinnovation.org. There is no fee to participate. More information at Artists who are interested in exhibiting at BioCT Innovation Commons (The Commons) located at 93 Shennecossett Road, Groton, CT 06340 for six months (January 24 – July 15) are invited to submit a photo of their artwork for review.
The exhibit will be on January 24, 2019 from 5-7pm, all artists are welcome to attend the Innovator Networking Program and Wine Tasting during this time.

The Startup Success Story will feature ThayerMahan, a local marine technology company. Thames River Innovation Place’s Naval and Maritime Consortium will also be present. There will be networking and refreshments. The event will take place from 4:30 – 6:30 pm at BioCT Innovation Commons located at 93 Shennecossett Road in Groton, CT. Groton, CT – Ignite, a program of Thames River Innovation Place, and BioCT Innovation Commons will host a special Innovators Networking event on Thursday, June 21st.
The Startup Success Story will feature Assembly Biosciences, a company in residence at the Commons. Acoustic music will also be part of the event as part of Make Music Day - SE CT. Additionally, STE[A]M: Arts & Design in Science art exhibit will also Groton, CT – The Innovation Commons is pleased to announce the opening of its first art exhibit. STE[A]M: Arts & Design in Science. The exhibit features 25 works of art by 15 artists and will be on display at the incubator and co-working space for six months, until January 2019. The Commons, which is open Monday through Friday from 9 am - 5 pm is located at 93 Shennecossett Road in Groton, CT.
The call to artists, which was announced in April, sought two-dimensional artwork from ‘scientists who are BioCT will host its 3rd Annual Summer Kick-Off on Tuesday, June 12th at the Innovation Commons. The outdoor event is an opportunity for those in science and technology as well as local innovators and community members to network while enjoying food, drink and live music. The event will begin with the opening of the STE[A]M art exhibit indoors at The Innovation Commons from 4:00-5:00 pm, and then move outdoors from 5:00-7:00 pm. The Innovation Commons is located at 93 Shennecossett Road in Groton, CT. Groton, CT – CURE Innovation Commons will partner with the Ignite Program of Thames River Innovation Place to present Discrimination and Harassment Avoidance Training for entrepreneurs, small businesses and start-ups on Wednesday, February 7, from 3:00-5:00 pm. The event will take place at CURE Innovation Commons located at 93 Shennecossett Road in Groton, CT.
The training will be presented by Mary Gambardella from Wiggin and Dana. This training is being offered to business owners, HR professionals, The TRIP Ignite Program Presents "Accelerate Your Business: Navigating Your Onboarding Process: Employment Law Basics for the Early Stage Company."
